Mod for the new Sniffer creature
Minecraft Sniffer Mod is a free game utility for PC from developer 9minecraft. This Minecraft mod will add the new Sniffer creature that won the Minecraft Mob Vote 2022, which is an annual online event that lets players vote for which mob they would like to get added to the game.
Joining the Pixelmon Mod, Minecraft Sniffer Mod is another mob-specific addition to the game that aims to introduce new creatures that players can capture and interact with. The Sniffer is a harmless and friendly herbivore animal that can be tamed by feeding it flowers and plants.
Here comes a new mob
Mob Vote is a player activity during the annual Minecraft Live online event. Usually lasting for a couple of days, it lets fans vote for which new mob they would like to be added to the game in a future update. This year, after more than 3.5 million votes were cast, the Sniffer creature won, and it will make its appearance in 2023.
As of this writing, there are still a few months before players can get to see the new creature. However, you can already get a glimpse of what it will be like thanks to a fan-made mod called Minecraft Sniffer Mod. You can find its eggs inside treasure chests hidden in ocean ruins. Once grown, it will roam around and dig up seeds that you can grow into rare plants.
To install this mod, you will need to have Minecraft Forge and the Fabric API to proceed. If you've tried out any other mod before, the process will be quite familiar to you. Also, just know that this mod is still a work in progress as the developer still needs to tweak the appearance to be more in line with the official version.

If you were one of the players who voted for the creature during the Mob Vote 2022, you can get an early preview of sorts as to what the Sniffer will be like with Minecraft Sniffer Mod. From initial impressions, it seems to be doing a great job at replicating its look and behavior. There's a lot to look forward to in future updates.
